— In one sentence —
The second Joey and Aoife novel, for readers continuing through the Boys of Tommen series after its first screen-source pair.
§ 01 · WHY READ
Why read
Redeeming 6 completes the Joey Lynch and Aoife Molloy story begun in Saving 6. The title points to the book's central tension: love may offer a reason to change, but it cannot do the changing for someone else. Walsh keeps the Tommen setting while giving this couple a more difficult route than the first two books.
This is not a confirmed source for Prime Video's first season. Its adaptation connection is series-level: it is a later published novel in the same current Boys of Tommen reading universe. Read it after Saving 6, not as a substitute for the first-season source pair.
§ 02 · CHARACTERS
Characters
Joey Lynch must face consequences rather than relying on charm, talent, or other people to absorb them.
Aoife Molloy has her own limits and choices. The book works best when read as her story too.
The wider Tommen group provides continuity for readers moving through the series in publication order.
§ 03 · HIGHLIGHTS
Three highlights
- A committed continuation. It finishes an arc that Saving 6 deliberately leaves unsettled.
- Consequences stay present. The novel does not pretend recovery is linear or romantic devotion is a treatment plan.
- A useful series bridge. It helps readers move from the Season 1 books toward the later couples.
§ 04 · EDITIONS
Recommended editions
| Edition | Why pick it |
|---|---|
| Bloom Books standard paperback | The current English edition, ISBN 9781464277092. |
| Ebook | Helpful for readers taking both Joey and Aoife books consecutively. |
| Audiobook | A convenient option for a long continuation novel. |
§ 05 · FIT
Who it's for / not for
Read this if you are...
- Continuing directly from Saving 6.
- Looking for romance that leaves room for relapse, repair, and accountability.
- Reading beyond the novels Prime Video has named for Season 1.
Skip it if you are...
- New to Boys of Tommen.
- Looking for a carefree sports-romance mood.
- Avoiding addiction, domestic abuse, or emotional crisis.
§ 06 · TIPS
Reading tips
- Do not start here. Read Saving 6 first.
- Treat any content warning as a reading decision, not a spoiler.
- Move to Taming 7 only when you are ready for a new couple and a different tone.
§ 07 · COMPARE
Read alongside
- Chloe Walsh - Saving 6. The required first half of this story.
- Chloe Walsh - Taming 7. The next published Tommen couple.
- Katherine Center - Things You Save in a Fire. For another romance shaped by recovery and hard-earned trust.
- Robyn Carr - Virgin River. For an external contrast in community-centered romance.
§ 08 · DISCUSSION
Discussion questions
- What does the novel distinguish between guilt, responsibility, and change?
- How does Aoife protect her own future within the relationship?
- Which friendships help Joey, and which enable him?
- Does the two-book structure give the subject more care than one novel could?
- What is gained by keeping the story inside the larger Tommen series?
One line to remember
“The continuation that asks whether love can coexist with the work of getting well.”— bibliotecas editorial summary, not a textual quotation
