The 60-second summary
By using bibliotecas you agree:
- Not to abuse the service (no full-site scraping, no bookmark/rating manipulation, no DoS, no hate speech)
- We don't promise 100% uptime or error-free content, but we commit to fixing what we can quickly
- Our content is free for personal use; for commercial use, get in touch
- Either party can terminate the relationship with 30 days' notice (immediate in emergencies)
1. Scope

- Search the catalog
- Newsletter subscription (if you opt in)
The service is provided "as is." We make best efforts on availability and accuracy, but do not guarantee zero downtime or zero errors.

You are responsible for activity on your account. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact support@bibliotecas.space immediately.
2.3 Termination
- You may delete your account at any time via /me/data
- We may suspend an account for: violations of these Terms / long-term inactivity (24 months) / legal compulsion
3. Acceptable use
3.1 You may
- Use any publicly available content for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Quote or link to our guides (please retain attribution)
- Browse in bulk at reasonable frequency (under 60 requests per minute)
3.2 You may not
- Scrape the entire site to build a mirror or substitute service
- Programmatically bypass authentication or rate limits
- Submit abusive, harassing, or illegal content via any input field
- Impersonate a member of the editorial team
- Probe or attack our security (legitimate vulnerability disclosure: see below)
- Paste third-party personal data (other people's phone numbers, addresses) into feedback forms or notes
- Use bots to manipulate saves or ratings (even though ratings aren't live yet)
4. Content
4.1 Our content
All guides, collections, category descriptions, and author profiles are produced by us (AI-assisted, editor-reviewed) and we hold the copyright.
Personal non-commercial use (citing us in your notes, on social media, in a personal blog post): permitted, with attribution and link.
Commercial use (publisher marketing, media republishing, paid newsletter content): contact hello@bibliotecas.space for a license.
4.2 Third-party content
Book covers, titles, and author names are the property of their respective publishers, authors, or rights holders. We use them under fair-use principles for the purposes of review, recommendation, and bibliographic reference.
4.3 Your content
For feedback, future bookmark notes, and any other input you submit:
- You retain copyright
- You grant us a limited, royalty-free, revocable license to use it for operating the service (to display it back to you, to aggregate statistics, to improve prompts)
- We won't publish your feedback as public content without your explicit consent
5. AI-assisted content notice
Our guides are produced with AI assistance and reviewed by editors. See About → How we use AI.
If you find a factual error in a guide, report it via the feedback form. We commit to:
- Acknowledging within 24 hours
- Fixing or replying "we've assessed it and disagree" within 48 hours
- Crediting the reporter (with their consent) on a credits page
6. Intellectual property / DMCA
If you believe our content infringes your copyright:
- Send a DMCA notice to dmca@bibliotecas.space
- Include: proof of identity, exact URL(s), description of the infringement, and a good-faith statement
- We will respond within 24 hours per our DMCA SOP
7. Disclaimers
- Recommendations (editions, reading order, paired books) are editorial judgments offered as suggestions, not purchase promises
- We are not responsible for the content of external links (booksellers, Wikipedia, other sites)
- The service is provided "as is," with no implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- The service may be temporarily unavailable (maintenance, third-party outages) — we will work to restore, but assume no liability for resulting indirect losses
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our cumulative liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months (currently $0; will apply if paid services are introduced later)
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or punitive damages (e.g., missing a book's sale price)
9. Governing law and dispute resolution
- First step: email hello@bibliotecas.space; we'll attempt to resolve the matter within 30 days
- If that fails: these Terms are governed by the laws of {{JURISDICTION}}; disputes shall be submitted to arbitration in {{ARBITRATION_VENUE}}
- You retain the right to file a complaint with the consumer protection or regulatory authority in your jurisdiction, regardless of any arbitration clause
10. Changes to these Terms
Material changes will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top
- Be announced in the newsletter (if you subscribe)
- Give you a 7-day window during which continued use indicates acceptance — if you disagree, you may delete your account
Non-material changes (typos, link fixes) will not be specifically announced.
11. Entire agreement / severability
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the DMCA Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
English is the canonical version of these Terms. Localized versions will be provided as the service expands.
